Communication and Language
Communication and Language is the EYFS strand about listening, understanding and talking. For a toddler that means hearing new words attached to real things, following a simple instruction, and having a reason to say something. The activities here are chosen because they are full of talk: naming what goes in the basket, describing wet and dry, giving a soft toy a voice. You do not need to teach anything. Do the activity, narrate what is happening, and leave gaps for them to fill.
