What you need

  • basket of clean laundry
  • two empty baskets or piles

How to do it

  1. Tip the clean laundry into a pile on the floor.
  2. Say 'this pile is for grown-up clothes, this one is for yours'.
  3. Hand pieces one at a time and let them choose the right pile.
  4. Cheer when a pile is finished and count how many are in it.

Why it matters

Sorting by a rule like 'mine vs yours' is real early maths thinking dressed up as a chore.
