Literacy
Literacy for a toddler is not letters. It is the love of books, the rhythm of rhymes, the discovery that marks on paper mean something, and the hand strength to make those marks. The activities here touch that early ground: scribbling, turning pages, posting letters, listening to a story under a blanket, pointing at a picture and naming what they see. There are not many, because reading together is most of early literacy and does not need instructions or props. But each of these adds something a book on its own cannot, whether that is a crayon in the hand or a story acted out with a soft toy.
