Toddler activities with a tray

A baking tray is the secret to sensory play without the clean-up. Anything that happens on a tray stays on the tray, more or less, which means flour, water, ice and rice all become reasonable indoor activities. The ones on this page all use a tray as their base. They are mostly hands-in-it sensory play, with a few pouring and sorting games too. Lay a towel underneath, keep a cloth nearby, and let them go.
