Toddler activities with a towel

A towel, whether it is a tea towel from the drawer, a hand towel from the bathroom or a big bath towel off the airer, is soft, always within reach, and forgiving of a toddler's grip. The activities here use one as a peekaboo curtain, a wiping cloth for real jobs, a sled to pull across the floor or a texture to explore, with the size of towel chosen to suit each one. They are quick to set up and just as quick to put away. Several are proper helper jobs, wiping and folding, which toddlers take very seriously. Each activity lists the steps, what it builds and a way to stretch it once it gets easy.
